Description
This wooden door handle adds a unique charm to any home. Its timeless and natural design looks welcoming, and the tactile sensation upon touch feels as though it openly invites the owner or guest to enter the home.
Thanks to the natural texture of the wood, each handle is unique — you will never find two absolutely identical pieces!
Our handle is hand-turned on a lathe from locally sourced wood in Germany. Each piece is additionally treated with natural linseed oil, which enhances the natural wood texture, gives the surface a noble sheen, and protects the material from drying out.
Upon request, personalisation is possible — we can manufacture a wooden handle in a custom size or choose a wood species that best complements your interior. Please contact us via email for this purpose.
Available Wood Species
We offer door handles in the following wood species:
-
Apple (sapwood and heartwood) — warm, light wood with delicate pinkish hues.
-
Birch bark — a unique material with a pronounced texture and soft natural pattern.
-
Cherry — a noble reddish-brown shade that darkens and deepens over time.
-
Thuja — light, aromatic wood with beautiful annual rings.
-
Yew (heartwood) — warm orange-brown colour with an exquisite grain.
-
Walnut (dark) — a rich chocolate-brown tone, one of the most elegant options.
-
Plum — an exotic pinkish-red shade with an interesting texture.
Advantages
- Eco-friendliness and naturalness
The handle is made from natural, locally sourced wood without the use of synthetic materials.
- Durability
The wood undergoes several years of gentle drying, which virtually eliminates the risk of cracking and deformation over time.
- Pleasant tactile sensations
Thanks to hand sanding and linseed oil treatment, the surface is smooth, warm, and comfortable for daily use.
- Uniqueness
Each handle has a one-of-a-kind natural grain, making it a distinctive accent in your home.
- Wide selection of wood species
You can choose a shade that matches your furniture, doors, or overall interior style.
- Personalisation option
The handle can be made to custom sizes and from your preferred wood species.
- German quality
Hand-turning in Germany guarantees high quality and attention to every detail. We manufacture the door handles ourselves, carefully monitoring every stage of the process.
Care Instructions
To ensure your wooden door handle remains beautiful and functions properly for a long time, simply follow a few basic rules:
-
Wipe regularly with a soft, dry cloth (microfibre or flannel) to remove dust and fingerprints.
-
Avoid prolonged contact with water — excess moisture can damage the surface over time. If the handle accidentally gets wet, dry it immediately.
-
Do not use abrasive cleaners or aggressive household chemicals — they can damage the oil finish.
-
Periodically refresh the oil layer — once a year or as needed (when the surface becomes dull or rough), carefully apply a thin layer of linseed oil or special furniture oil, then polish with a soft cloth. This will restore the original shine and reliably protect the handle from drying out.
-
Avoid prolonged direct sunlight — some wood species may fade and lose colour intensity over time.
Manufacturing Process
The wood is dried gently over several years to prevent cracking and internal stress. Once the material arrives at our workshop as raw blanks, we first inspect it for quality. If the wood meets our standards, it is sawn into smaller pieces and secured in a lathe.
Turning is similar to planing, but here the entire workpiece rotates, and a special chisel is used to shape it into the door handle. After the handle is shaped in its rough form, it is carefully hand-sanded — first with coarse grit, then with fine grit — to achieve perfect smoothness.
Finally, each piece is treated with natural linseed oil. This not only highlights the natural grain of the wood but also creates a protective layer that guards against dirt and drying out. This handcraftsmanship gives the wooden handle its premium appearance and pleasant tactile qualities.
