Our fittings are manufactured in Germany and have been “aged” using a special process. To do this, take the hinges and place them in an acid bath. The metal changes its surface structure, turns brown and gets a light powdery rust film.
It may happen that your ordered goods still show traces of rust. However, you can easily remove this with an oil cloth.
However, many of our customers want exactly this antique look and leave the fittings as they are.
However, this process does not weaken the metal. So you don’t need to worry about stability.
The shapes of the fittings and their design were based on historical patterns. The hinges you can buy from us can be found in museums and sometimes even still installed in old houses.
The fittings are very suitable for chests, furniture and house construction (e.g. doors) as they are incredibly robust and cleanly finished.
We only use our own products, including forged nails, for our contract work.
If you have any special requests for shape and size, please let us know. As we also have contacts to very capable master blacksmiths, we are able to fulfill almost every wish in the form of metal.

We have dispensed with splicing nails for the handles, as the threaded eyelets can withstand much higher loads. We also supply with splicing nails on request. We therefore ask you to leave a message in the notes field of the shopping cart when ordering our fittings.
