Our wickerwork material is cut from the best parts of the birch bark. Elaborately peeled. Brought to the ideal thickness and pre-sorted again. This enables us to work quickly and cleanly.
The strips can be used dry or soaked in warm water. Our belts are of the highest quality and are in great demand in Japan and Korea. You could say that we have a unique selling point there with our quality.
So, if you also want to braid with a great material, go for it!
We always recommend weaving 2 strips on top of each other. The peeled side (the lighter side) facing each other.
Historical facts about our braiding material
Braiding is an ancient craft and has been practiced all over the world. Strips of birch bark and other types of bark were and are still used today in this craft, as the bark is very robust and does not rot. Wickerwork with birch bark is now finding its way into modern design projects. Be it here in Europe or in Asia.
