We cut the ribbons from deer, wild boar, goat, horse or beef. The most stable are cattle and horse. Wild boar and deer can also withstand the train quite well and goat should only be chosen by experts.

The rawhides are produced in Germany by a family business that has been in existence for over 200 years. Rawhide tape is often used for braiding, sewing, tensioning drums, etc. We cut the straps from our rawhides. These are gently air-dried and naturally depilated beforehand. We recommend soaking the rawhide strips well beforehand. This makes sewing easier, the tape does not tear so quickly and “slips” through the sewing hole more easily. We also recommend watering for braiding. After drying, the skin contracts and provides strong stability.
