Medieval lantern – 100% handmade!
Made by us, with our own materials and here in Germany.
Each lamp is unique and finished to a high standard. We use various fruit woods and hardwoods. Be it plum, yew, apple wood etc.. Rawhides are specially selected to create a beautiful light image. We use goat, wild boar, split beef, deer or horse.
The bars of the medieval lantern are made of beech sticks. A beautiful candle lifter is included to make it easier to remove the candle.
We sew with wax cord.
The purchased lantern is ready for immediate use. If required, in a standing position or hanging on a cord attached directly to the lamp.

Care:
A medieval lantern requires hardly any maintenance. The wood can be treated with a hard oil. And if you want, you can also treat the rawhide with it (externally). This makes the lamp more transparent and brighter.
Tips & tricks:
Use tea lights because they have an optimum flame height and go out if a lamp falls over (fire protection).
Never use “grave lights”, they contain a very high proportion of oil and have a plastic “outer skin” that could burn.
From time to time, remove the soot deposits from the inside of the candles.
