Description
The tent pegs are forged from solid and hardened steel. The eyelet is functional and makes it easy to hammer in. The shape prevents it from slipping out and has no sharp edges. Our tent pegs are made in Germany by our master blacksmith Stefan Miller.

Care
Clean thoroughly with a brush after use. Ideally, they should then be wiped with a greasy or oily cloth. The oil or fat can be the old fat from the last knight’s meal. Please do not use mineral oils or similar products so as not to contaminate the soil at the impact site the next time. This protects the tent pegs from corrosion and allows them to serve you for a long time.
History
People have always used portable and lightweight shelters that can be set up and taken down quickly. Evidence was found during excavations in layers from around 40,000 years ago and paintings in Europe, the remains of light tents. They consisted of animal skeletons as a frame and fur or animal skin as a covering. Because of these primitive materials, the tents were often very easy to transport. Later on, the portable shelters became more and more complex, made of wood and ropes. However, these tents had to be secured somehow against storms and weather. Strong gusts of wind could destroy them. A solid foundation is therefore essential. Initially, wooden pegs were used and later expensive metal pegs were used. This is how the tent peg was born. As the craft progressed, the functional design changed and different materials were tried and tested.
