Rawhide for drumheads
At some point, more and more drum makers have started contacting us with the question if we offer material for drumheads. We have heeded – and now we are glad to introduce you rawhide blanks for drumheads!
Each circle is selected manually to eliminate the slightest defects, and cut exactly to your size.
Tip: as many drums are crafted individually, we would like to ask you to contact us via email to discuss your specific requirements – including size, rawhide type, and other custom details.
At our store, you will find the following rawhide types:
Hog: ideal for crafting shamanic drums, as well as replicas of the Stone Age drums, when hunting rituals flourished.
Goat: is used for making small drums. Suitable for crafting pagan drums.
Horse: perfect for Native American drums and shamanic hand drums.
Cow: hmmmm… for huuge drums!
Deer: the timeless material for crafting drums from the Stone Age period, during the heyday of the hunting cult. Also historically used for Slavic-Siberian ceremonial drums.
The rawhide for drumheads presented on our website has been produced by a family business with more than two centuries of expertise.
Cost: the cost of the blanks is calculated based on the area of the square into which your circle fits. For example, for a circle with a diameter of 50 cm, the area of a 50×50 cm square is taken — this will be the estimated cost. This approach takes into account that the remaining rawhide scraps cannot be used for other workpieces.
